If I could give 0000 stars I would. I purchased a 2013 toyota highlander engine with approximately 49000 miles on it back in 10/10/2025 once my mechanic received the engine(almost a month later) he called to inform me that from the look of the engine it's not less than 100,000 miles and oil leak and so forth so I contact the person I have been dealing with(Elena) at the Used Engine and she firmly stated that my mechanic was wrong blah blah, I was like OK so I check the VIN number with DMV and Boom!!!!! My experience with Thrifty Engines / UsedEngines.us has been documented thoroughly for ongoing filings. The unit received was defective and unusable. The company misrepresented warranty procedures, ignored mechanic documentation, and attempted to void coverage on arbitrary grounds unrelated to the written terms. Consumers should be aware that this business operates across state lines (CA, TX) with overlapping staff and inconsistent communication. The first engine u ordered worked out well, the second engine was delayed due to postal issue. but engine was delivered & my mechanic had no complaints so I give these guys a passing grade. Give them a try.

If I could I would give them "0" Stars Used engines In in Houston TX is literally a scam and crooked company. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM!! They charge for crap engines and to not stand by their word. They sent a rusted unusable piece of junk and if it weren’t for my bank’s support, I would be out all my $3K + Do not trust anything they say they are scam artist. 98k Chev 5.3l -Purchase and delivery went well. Engine looked as though it had been sitting outside in a junkyard with a heavy coat of rust on everything. Rear of engine, block and heads were marked with UAP in yellow paint which I believe now means "Use As Parts" only. Engine is installed now and has P0300 code severity 2/3. New plug wires, plugs and coils installed with no difference. Compression test show one cylinder with only 100 psi as opposed to others at 160 -185 psi. Used Engines Inc notified.
