I would suggest dealing with the local office rather than the website. We were going nowhere with my wife's Medicare and S.S. application that was done online. Sara at the Alexandria office took our call and cheerfully processed the application in 10 minutes over the phone. My wife picked up her Medicare number the next day. The S.S. start date was finalized just like that. I cannot say enough good about Sara's service. Remember, they deal with plenty of grumpy people during their day. This place is a disgrace!!! When you call the phone it hangs up, forcing you to call again. Once I finally got through to a CSR I had been scheduled for a phone appointment. It has now been over a month and still NO call or resolution. If I could rate this facility it would not get ANY stars.

Held on the phone for 20 minutes. Agent answered the phone and while talking with her she abruptly transferred me to the survey. Called back, held for 30 minutes and recording came on saying no one was available to take my call and hung up on me. Our tax dollars at work. What poor, poor customer service. Government agencies are a joke and our time, which is valuable, is wasted.
