Spoke with numerous employees in the area to get my father his death benefit after my mother passed away 7 months ago. This has been ongoing forever. Per chance, I got connected with Susan in the Winona office. She was patient, understanding, marvelous, and actually followed through and fixed the paperwork problem! Shout out to Susan! i've tried contacting Somebody over the phone last couple days, I called three times and nobody picked up, it constantly said all the agents are unavailable All I was trying to do was get some information about my Social Security application for disability and to get updates on itbut nobody answers the phone, if you do manage to get somebody on the phone they're either rude to you or they don't know what's going on somebody should not have to drive all the way to The office in Winona just to get an update on their applicatio... read more

The older woman that works there was incredibly rude to me. She told me she was glad I was going to have to pay a penalty. And also said “that’s what you get for retiring early.!” I was never charged a penalty, even though she said I would be. She also said I was to bring my paycheck stub down to her every time I was paid for the records. She shouldn’t be working there if she treats retired people that way. While a good idea in practice, it is a shame I will never to collect a social security check. Thankfully I will have enough saved up to be able to retire.
