I couldn't believe the experience that I had at this office. It was horrible! My initial phone call with Mr. Contreras was wonderful! He was so very helpful and very pleasant. He started my application over the phone and said I had to bring in my marriage license and divorce decree in order to complete the application. It said it's best to come either by 9am or at the end of the day, 4pm, to avoid having to wait just to get the copies made. I showed up about 4:45, took a ticket and was told to have a seat. Todas las veces q he tenido q venir a este lugar el guardia de la puerta horrible la manera en que trata a las personas en general no entiendo como la administración permite a personas con mal carácter trabajar en estas instituciones públicas. I was really dreading this phone call expecting a run around conversation where little was explained. Mr Contreras was extremely personable, very clear and his explanations were very easy to understand. I am so very happy to have been able to speak with Mr. Contreras. Thanks SSA Riverhead!
Mr Garcia was knowledgeable and very respectful on the phone. He was very helpful. However the rest of the representatives are rude. Bad customer service. Either they don’t give time to answer your question; they also cut you off by saying “I have to take a call”. I thought they suppose to give time to clients to help. They seem not knowledgeable or just not interested to help. Very disappointing.
