I called in to schedule an appointment, and to know what I should bring relating to my appointment, and was told to just bring ID. Well, I drive the hour up, only to be told that I needed some other things.
Horrible broken system. I filled the online form, it tells me to call the 800 number for the appointment. I call, hold for 1 hr, it hangs up on me. For 3 days I try to get through to an agent, AND was on the callback list for 3 days but never got called back. So I take a day off work, drive 1 hr to Mt Airy office, arrive and they ask why I didn't call their local office number. This secret number is not provided by the website or Google Maps listing. Made an appointment to get my name changed after marriage, quick and simple and barely waited 10 minutes. Security officer and gentlemen who helped me both very friendly.
You can’t speak to any one at the SsI office. I was on the phone different times from 2-3 hours and still can’t speak to a person. You get the stupid machine. Where is our tax going because there are nobody answering the phones.
