If the cement barriers are for security, you need to push them together and stick the rod in to connect. Much more difficult to get through. But if they are to support the Christmas tree and hang flowers next summer, then alls good. I worked with the barriers for years. Unconnected can be pushed apart and gotten passed whether crashed into or pushed. Together it's a high jump for a vehicle.
