I had two very different experiences with US Bank today. At the South Commercial branch, I was told there was a strict $2,500 limit for non-account holders and was advised to “call around” after the employee saw the check amount. She ended the conversation, and I went to my car. I then called the State Street branch and immediately got a different response. For my first birthday, my grandfather opened a savings account at this branch and deposited ten dollars in it for me. I still have that passbook and the Ladd and Bush branch of US bank remains my main bank for more than 80 years. The staff are, without exception, excellent. This elegant old bank is breathtaking to behold, I remember going to it with my mother in 1943. It has been modernized tastefully since then and still has retained its character.
