Dr Blaivas is EXCELLENT. My son had Ketamine Bladder syndrome and after seeing 6 other Uroligists Dr Blaivas saved my sons life. He was far beyond what I would expect from a doctor. He took every call from us, was compassionate, kind and so knowledgeable about bladders. We thank him from the bottom of our hearts for what he did for my family.
Dr. Blaivas is the epitome of what a physician should be. He is smart, down to earth, caring and a brilliant surgeon. He takes time to speak with patients and explains everything that needs to be done to correct the patient's problems. He returns phone calls promptly and will spend as much time as necessary speaking with the patient to ensure complete understanding. He is truly a perfectionist in his field and is an exemplary model for others to emulate.
If it happens to be your preference to visit with a Doctor, spend about ten minutes discussing the reason you are there, not being examined and being told he is not sure he can remedy the problem and then walk out paying him $700.00 for an office visit then by all means do so. And when you send him a follow up letter for advice from the first post visit letter instead of the Doctor responding he has his Biller call with a message. If you think that's appropriate go for it. I certainly don't.
Dr. Blaivas was a miracle. I had seen 4-6 different urolgists in year half time frame...I had a shrunken and inflamed bladder that was holding roughly 50-75 ml to the average 750ml bladder. I was unable to walk without pain and I spent most of my days for a year in bed. This was insane because I have always been so active. Medicine would not work and the bladder can't expand back to normal size once it shrinks.
