They don't know what insurance company to bill and when you try to call billing you're transfered to some overseas third party service that can't help you either. Absolutely ridiculous and I am sorry I went here.
Care was fine, but the billing is very dishonest. Ascension's online estimator quoted $300, this aligned with my insurances's estimate as well. However, they failed to let us know they partner with EMS which charges additional fees. In total we paid almost $1000 out of pocket (after insurance adjustments) for a quick visit for some antibiotics. Woah woah woah. Just a caution to those who have not been to this Aurora Urgent care clinic. I am sure the 1 star experiences are valid. As for me, my experience has been 5 stars. I have been going to this location consistently for 7 years now. My experience has been great. Just a word to the wise people are more likely to leave a negative review and comment than a positive one. The providers that are contracted through ascension, emergency medical specialists, have fraudulent billing practices. I was told that my insurance was billed and the claim was denied. Only for me to then call my insurance company and be told that a claim was never submitted. EMS then tried to deny this and say a claim was submitted, but had no proof. This is the second time this has happened to me at this facility.
Took my partner in for a tick bite. The nurse told me “I’ve been doing this for 35 years and this is not a tick bite.” She did chest x-rays (zero respiratory symptoms by the way) and wanted to do a Covid test which we declined. Gave him low dose of antibiotics and an antibiotic cream and urged us to go to the ER. We went and got a second opinion the next day as he was showing no signs of improvement.
