The issue turned out to be a clogged filter, and while the technician resolved it efficiently in about an hour, it would have been helpful if he had explained routine maintenance tips more thoroughly. Overall, everything is working well now, but I felt I had to prompt for additional information.
Fast and efficient. Vents cleaned.
The problem was a bad capacitor which they discovered and replaced in less than an hour and that took care of the cooling problem totally. The visit was more efficient than last year, when it took two appointments to find a comparable problem.
Quick fixes, minimal disturbance.
The maintenance took about 2 hours which is reasonable given the complicated pipes and entrance coordination with the building administration. A blocked filter was identified as the fundamental cause and specific instructions on correct maintenance were supplied to prevent a repeat incidence.
