Noisy location with windows that needed to be double glazed considering it's in the heart of the city. The decor was dated and a couch that needed a good clean. Check-in is overkill.

We booked Urban Apartments Melbourne on Elizabeth Street expecting accommodation that matched the photos advertised online. What we arrived to was the complete opposite. The apartment was filthy, poorly maintained, and completely unacceptable. There were marks and stains on the walls, a used tissue stuck to one of the walls, extremely sticky floors, visible mould in the bathroom, and bugs and cockroaches present in the apartment. The accomodation was decent and the location was prime at the heart of cbd. Most of the customer service staff were very helpful except for Samantha. We did not receive the check-in link until I had arrived to the hotel and contacted reception and a kind man assisted us. Main guests was still 10 mins away, so I spoke with reception and had the check in link sent though. Do not book with them. No one on the counter had to ring a phone number to someone with limited English or ability. Like talking to a three year old. 45min to get a key. Not the best experience.

We stayed in a Deluxe King Studio, but the air conditioning was not working. Instead, there were three fans left in the room (outside temperature is 30+ degrees), which is not acceptable, especially when booking accommodation expecting proper facilities. We called staff to request a room change, but they refused. This issue should have been clearly communicated at the beginning during check-in.
