Uptown Cutlery is the best knife shop in Washington. Sam curates some pretty fantastic stuff. As chef in Seattle I don't get to the shop as much as I would like however it's a must visit if your serious about knives, kitchen tools and outdoor items. I’ve shopped here many times, and the selection of kitchen tools is unlike any store I’ve ever visited. The owner is thoughtful, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about every item he carries. Each visit, I discover something new and unique. It’s a wonderfully curated shop that I’ll return to every time I need—or, more honestly, want—another kitchen tool.
Uptown Cutlery is a gem! Sam has been sharpening my knives since we both lived in San Francisco and I was over the moon the find him again here in PT. Great sharpening and an incredible selection of knives, cookware, and books. I find something awesome and surprising every time I visit the shop, and the good Japanese knife I got recently is a dream.
Hidden gem. The owner, Sam, really knows his stuff. Every item in this shop is vetted for quality, and he'll take his time making sure that you're getting something well-suited to your needs. Picked up a Sakai Takayuki Tus petty knife here last March, one of the best knives I've ever owned. Can't recommend this place highly enough.
We bought a Japanese Damascus sashimi knife as a gift for a friend. The knife was incredibly sharp with a polished edge. We enjoyed perfectly cut salmon sashimi with this knife. Very high quality and beautiful knife... highly recommend!
