My bill for a small house has gone from an average of 85 per month year-round to now 130- in one year. There will be class-action lawsuits on this. Pure corporate theft. Excel Energy in the western UP charges HALF what UPPCO charges for electricity.
Billing is a nightmare. Rates are high. Website is garbage.
Uppco Rates are extraordinarily high. Houghton Co, specifically, is almost twice that of average Minnesota rates, 60% higher than Marquette and the highest in the midwest per kWh. I literally checked. California is the only state that has similar rates. People can no longer afford the rates with inflation, my entire street is dark by 9pm, seriously a joke, and sad that this foreign entity overseas is doing this to us, and getting rich as a result.
