I waited for 9 hours with high blood pressure. I asked them to simply lower my blood pressure to prevent a stroke, but I waited for 9 hours with this high blood pressure. They performed several useless tests, including one for COVID.
I went to passavant ER for palpitations, weakness, dizziness and chest pains. I saw Michael Barton, MD in the emergency department. HE was absoutely degrading and ignorant and didn't even give me the time of day to explain what was happening. He was ignorant and very dismissive. He discharged me without any additional testing. I then went to a different ER where I was admitted for a SEVERE HYPOKALEMIA, Tremors, PVCs and other things that would have been caught there had He given me the time of day. I came to the ER with significant right lower quadrant pain and have been waiting over 7 hours with no updates. When I asked about the delay, I was told that “high-acuity patients get priority,” which I fully understand as a healthcare worker, but this level of delay and lack of communication is unacceptable. People don’t come to the emergency room to sit for hours with no information; they come because they need help. I honestly don’t understand how this place is even allowed to operate. I had to sit in the emergency room waiting area only for MORE THAN SEVEN HOURS, and for what? It felt like nobody cared, nobody was paying attention, and nobody showed any sense of urgency at all. I made the mistake of bringing my wife here simply because it was close, and I regret that decision more than I can say. After waiting those seven hours, they finally put us in a small recliner bed.
