I was referred to the ER by WellNow. I’ve been sitting here for 4 hours and haven’t even been triaged. They don’t even know why I’m here. I came here because PH Elk ER is terrible and local people have said they’re now going to Kane and DuBois. 4 hours and all that’s been done is patient registration. I’m leaving. Won't help with anything and transfer you if it is something serious. They have people die in the waiting room waiting for help. Either waiting for transfer or not getting seen. Nurses joke and banter at each other about patients conditions in ear shot of other patients. Never get to see a doctor either. Basically just a urgent care with imaging equipment and a lab. This is where you go when you know what you have, because they won't know.
My husband fell at camp and injured his ankle. The X-rays didn’t show anything serious, but his provider, Adam Griffith, took his complaint seriously and ordered a CT of his ankle. The CT showed that his ankle was indeed broken. High praise to Dr Griffith for taking the time to look for the correct diagnosis! My husband’s orthopedic doctor in Pittsburgh also mentioned that Dr Griffith was on the ball!
