I had an appointment with Dr. Asad Durrani on March 6 at 2:45 PM on a Friday. I booked this appointment months in advance, and it required well over a six hour round trip for me to attend because of the distance. I scheduled it carefully because I have serious eye concerns. Previously I have been told different possible diagnoses including bilateral cataracts, possible macular degeneration, and even a possible retinal detachment that has not been definitively diagnosed. As a young person with congenital vision problems, this place is everything to me. Every physician here knows their “stuff” to a high degree, literally. When their doctors spend time with me, they take their time to show me my scans, explain their diagnoses, and educate me about my eyes based on my questions and curiosities. The other medical staff here, the folks who test our vision, apply drops, and take our photos, are all wonderful. The girl at the front desk was super sweet and the nurse who took me back and started the exam made me feel really comfortable. I think her name was Monica. She was great. And then Dr. Isaacson was so nice and thorough and answered all of my questions patiently. Great experience!
I never leave reviews but I felt this experience deserved to get one. I took my 5 year daughter who has Special Needs to the PEDIATRIC ophthalmologist for an eye exam. She’s never had her eyes checked by an ophthalmologist before and I was told she has astigmatism. She did very well, all things considered for the beginning of the exam - identifying shapes and letters. She then had to have her eyes dilated.
