Front desk people are horrible to you. Then on top of that the parent isn’t even aloud to go back with their child while they’re getting therapy. This has to be the worst place ever for therapy..
I personally went in for treatment of Cervical Dystonia and was asked what PT did for me in the past. My most recent therapist there didn't want to follow my previous treatment plan too much. She was making me worse, not better and she admitted she had only ever seen one other Patients with this condition. I genuinely think she didn't know how to properly treat me and rather than say that she chose to continue and hurt me.
I’ve been seeing two therapists here and am happy so far. I have not had any issues and both seem to listen to what I have to say or how I feel. The front office ladies are also very sweet.
I went here for pelvic floor physical therapy, at first, it seemed I was progressing towards recovery. However, this only lasted for a few weeks of the internal work and then my PT seemed lost on what to do next when it came to manual therapy, bio feedback, etc. She became exceedingly frustrated because I would not "jump" during manual therapy as she put it meaning she could not find the trigger points which were causing my pain. The choice of zero stars should be a choice. If you have very mild to small needs this place will work wonderful for you. If you want professional support with your rehab do not go here. The only concern from this facility and UPMC Altoona is that there numbers look good. Not you. It's sad that you have to drive to UPMC Pittsburgh to have you concerns about your well being taken care of. I guess that why the word professional is not in front of anything regarding UPMC Altoona.
