I am a patient person but I am absolutely angry and dismayed at my experience at UPMC Arthritis Wexford. They do not respond to messages and questions in a timely manner, if at all. Appointments are alternated between the PA and the physician. But the absolutely most frustrating thing is that the PA and physician told me different things at each appointment and were not on the same page of the treatment plan. Very observant staff. While checking my 89 year old fathers bloodwork they noticed his blood sugar was quite high and called to notify him immediately. We are very fortunate they caught it before he went into a diabetic coma. We are fortunate they read all the blood labs not just what pertains to his arthritis.
The person named above wasn't who saw Dr Antonio Achkar...I'm his fiance and I was. To be fair this was my first visit. ..but I plan on seeing how this continues and report on it as I see red flags concerning him already. Office staff and the nurses were top notch VERY attentive asking several times if we needed anything. He's VERY lucky to have them. I don't know how these visits or how autoimmune disorders work.
