I have been here since I was 18. So 16 years and the care is always horrible. It's always a run around. They never comply with what your wants are when dealing with your health. I have went in there and told them I need imaging of my brain and for a year they didn't want to and had me go through many other labs and test before last July they finally gave me an MRI just to show that I have a tumor in my brain.... The "doctors" at AFP are a joke! I wasted 10+ years going here, trying to find answers for all the pain I've been in since I was a teenager. I was medically gaslit the entire time, to the point that I was afraid to ever trust a doctor again. And speaking of doctors, I never saw an actual MD here, only residents, and they gave me two different diagnoses after meeting with me ONCE. I had a hard time finding a primary care doctor who was accepting new patients, especially since I wanted to stay within UPMC for my records. At 19, I was also struggling with my mental health and knew I needed to make a change from my pediatrician. After some searching, I finally found Altoona Family Physicians, and I’m so grateful I did. I’ve been here for two years now because I wanted a family doctor that wasn’t strictly a pediatrician. And so far I’ve loved them, the office ladies are kind and friendly, the residents are kind and friendly, doing everything in their power to do. HOWEVER Dr Phillips (overseeing physician) is the WIZARD OF OZ!!!! Does he exist??!! Where is he? Does he have a signature??
