I was here with a post surgical complication. The doctor on-call listened to me and co-ordinated the transfer I needed quickly. I was grateful this time
Had to share a good review bc I have heard all the bad. I took my friend to ER last night bc of severe back pain. I didn't want her husband to bc he is in his 90s and not good health. We arrived. Checked in. Went back no more then 5 minutes after arrival. Nurse checking Donna in was so nice. Went out to a bay. Tyler the RN was very nice and efficient too. The PA that saw her and i don't know her name but time was 930 pm was very nice and thorough. Tests were done and Efficiently. Kyle the other young RN was also exceptional.... read more
Had to atleast give one star to post , but this place deserves No stars no wait negative stars this place is ridiculous take healthy people before someone having chest pains and pain shooting down his left arm. We have been here going on 7 hours . There are people here that clearly need to be seen asap and they are taking people that have no symptoms. I will never come to this hospital again for anything.I thought Bedford UPMC was bad nope Altoona takes the cake. Awful place I do not recommend coming here!!!!
We are on hour 4 in this filthy waiting room for a medical issue we were told by his doctors when he was discharged from UPMC Montefiore just 4 days ago to “immediately” go to the Emergency Room for if he experienced. With this being the closest UPMC location to us, we made the hour drive here only to regret it more and more with each hour that passes. Took my mother here about 5 times with severe pain she was having. They kept brushing it off, calling it "flank pain" and acted like she just wanted pain pills but nope guess what, it was stage 4 cancer. That was in April and May. She passed away August 30th this year. Thanks for killing my mom! EDIT: Shame on you UPMC for giving me such a dry, insensitive and scripted reply! I most certainly will not be calling a "representative" so they can brush me under the rug, no, Id rather call my lawyer thanks!
