This was a quick pit stop on our way to Duluth for a long weekend. This is a food truck with outdoor picnic table seating. We ordered the brisket, sausage and burnt ends with a side of slaw. The sausage had cheese and jalapeños in it and was a nice spice level. The brisket was "melt in your mouth" tasty. The burnt ends were also delicious in sweet BBQ sauce. For this displaced Kansas City girl, the lack of good barbecue in the UP was tough...until Up-N-Smoke came along. Just go, get ya some. If you don't like it, it's you, not them. (p.s. "Spicy" here means Northwoods-spicy, not slap-yer-mama spicy. Just saying.) GREAT place.
My wife and I stopped here in early August 2026. Upon first look this place is nothing special, a food truck next to a building with a few smokers next to it. They have very friendly staff, a very sizeable outdoor seating area, and overall good vibes. My wife ordered the Pulled Chicken Sandwich and I ordered the Sausage combo.
