Absolutely horrible. You won't be able to reach or speak to your case manager, and any reps you speak with outside of your case manager cannot help. Each request takes 5 business days for a response. They eat up your time trying to get the process going and approved so you can get paid. I've requested TWICE paperwork they are sending to my doctor for requests so I can ensure it's being filled out properly. Haven't received it. They do not work with you. This place is absolutely horrible, I pay my premiums every week and now when it's time for them to pay out they give you the hardest time !!!!! Just another horrible insurable company
Below average experience with Unum. They have long SLA’s to review documents. Their online portal does not reflect accurate status of claims (reflects you have pending items when you don’t, and the call center says it’s a known bug). The call center cannot tell you where your items are in the queue for review. The entire claim process is frustrating.
The absolute nightmare of all insurances. They took almost TWO years to pay me back on a claim. I would submit claims for vision and would receive ridiculous responses, I called 5 times for my payment and I would be tossed around to different people, they did everything they could to avoid payment. So happy I switched companies.
Denied coverage for "my weight being a risk factor" even though I'm a normal healthy weight and applied through my job lol
