This place scams hardworking people. Dr pushed me out of work for a few more weeks since I’m unable to walk from surgery. When we spoke to unum before when the dr submitted his original eta of when I’d be back to work they said it would be no issue for an extension. That the dr would just need to show that they are extending it. We submitted the form and then they deny it. But they make you wait 5 days until they review it. It’s a scam. This is someone’s life. Great place, amazing staff and volunteers
My wife and I signed up for LTC with Unum (through my employer) about 14 years ago. Since then, the monthly premiums have increased by about 200% to 300% (if I recall correctly, from under $100 per month in the beginning, to now, $233 per month), with no increase in benefits (it seems like these premium increases have happened mostly within the last 5 or 6 years).
