I understand Insurance companies can be divisive and I expected worse here but honestly, once my claim application was submitted the process was very transparent and they assign you a case mgr whom you can work through directly. Thats all I wanted and it worked great for me.

Have been trying to get my short term disability approved and they keep telling me that my employer has not filled out their paperwork. Call my employer and am told that they completed it a week ago. One hand doesn't know what the other is going

They have customer service agents that will literally laugh at you if you express any minor amount of frustration with any of the filing process. Absolutely unprofessional!

I had misgivings getting UNUM insurance through my employer based on reviews but I'm glad I did. I used the hospital indemnity policy and received payment for being in the hospital for labor/delivery and the submission, review and payment process went off without any issues. I would buy a policy with them again. One of the more straight forward company experiences I have had in a while.
