They will drag your disability claim for months and try to deny it, even though you provided them with the documentations they asked for. Stay away from them. Maybe tell your company's HR not to use their services.

I would not recommend Unum to anyone based on my experience. My husband was injured at work and contacted Unum shortly afterward to understand my coverage. I was told that if he eventually received a workers’ compensation settlement, we would have to repay the settlement to Unum. Because we were living paycheck to paycheck on workers’ compensation, we made the decision not to file a claim with Unum because we believed they would take money from the eventual settlement. Even 1 star is too much for this company. Experts in making sure you never get paid, constantly losing information and forms, and inventing new hoops to jump through only to tell you that they didn't see it. Literally couldn't be a worse company, they make xFinity look good.

They get 1 star because I'm not allowed to give a zero star rating..... Filed for short-term disability, because of a surgery and my leave from work. Filled out the stuff that was asked of me, all of my direct deposit information for my payouts but instead decided that mailing me a paper check was what they were going to do. I still haven't received my check ...and now they've issued another one. But I'm not receiving them ... And they can't do anything unless it's been over 10 days since it was issued ...
