Getting benefits owed to me is like pulling teeth due to the horrible communication processes of this company. They clearly don't care about our situations and are just earning a check.
Do. Not use this this insurance my husband got critically ill and they denied his claim and i filed a request for short term disability and they denied the claim
UNUM terrible customer support. I do not recommend this company. They seem friendly upfront and then when you need something they deny everything.
This place doesn’t even deserve one star when it comes to short term disability. I have gone back and forth with them over my recent c-section and they are trying to short me two weeks. Recovery time for a c-section is 8 weeks. I have sent in all of the documentation that says my return to work date is 8 weeks from my surgery and still Unum says they “have no proof” that I need to be out of work past 6 weeks. If you’re looking for disability coverage, go to another company. Don’t even waste your time with these people.
