Unum SUCKS!!!! I just had a hysterectomy and was cut from hip to hip. They approved my short term disability for 4 weeks! My doctor definitely said 6 to 8 weeks i would be out of work.
The most ridiculous company ever. They canceled my claim even though I have several chronic illnesses and cant work full time and they will find every excuse to not approve you even with a doctor’s note explaining your restrictions. They will say ‘their doctors’ do not see why you cannot work full time and don’t agree with your doctors that you actually see all the time and know you. Cheap rate, scammy "insurance" that goes out of their way to make it difficult to talk with your claim specialist, even though they are quick to say, "if you have any questions ask!" Ask where? Via fax? I would call, but the last time I spoke with your outsourced call center they clearly didn't know what I was asking about and misinformed me on what type of documentation was necessary.
