I’ve had an incredibly frustrating experience with Unum Vision. I called seven different providers listed as in-network, including two that Unum recommended, and none of them accepted my insurance. Providers and Unum reps gave conflicting information, and one provider was told by Unum they were not in-network — a statement Unum later denied. I’ve been calling trying to get a hold of my case worker no where to be found apparently she is always busy doing who knows what I tried to speak with the manager no where to be found was told I would get a call back at 5pm from someone I spoke with earlier in the day turns out I was told when I called after not receiving a call back from the manager the case managers leave at 5. My company uses UNUM & it has been a complete NIGHTMARE! Every review is ACCURATE. I was advised to go on disability for my pregnancy by HR. I let UNUM know and I literally went 10 weeks WITHOUT Pay because UNUM decided everything my dr submitted wasn’t sufficient. My OB/GYN OFFICE complained asking me what else could they possibly want or need when they provided what they needed/wanted TWICE! This was from July to September. The worst experience I've ever had with a benefits partner. They are difficult to get in touch with and make you jump through hoops even when all your paperwork and medical records are in their hands. My STD for my pregnancy was approved and it took them almost an entire month to provide me with my first disability payment. When I called to ask about my payment I was given the run around.
