Terrible experience with UNUM's FMLA process. I had an existing approved FMLA claim (valid until 6/27/25), and their own representative (Shaterra) confirmed that I did NOT need to submit additional medical certification. Yet, despite following all instructions, UNUM suddenly demanded new paperwork, causing unnecessary delays. This company is a joke! I have been doing nothing but fight with this company since my injury in 11/2024! They can’t answer questions! The person they give you as your case worker is never at work or doesn’t return calls! I have called them everyday still no answers!
They are the worst. They just take your money. I filed a claim to find out we don’t get the full benifits since we live in California. I did receive payments totaling $103.00. I paid more into the policy than what I will ever collect.
