You're honestly better off staying at Casas del Rio or Lobo Village. UNM housing seems far more focused on profit than on the well-being of its students. Social media posts on Instagram and Reddit give great insight from residents who’ve had serious issues—like being denied the right keys, experiencing violent incidents, and then being refused refunds, after traumatic fatal shootings all around the property. The housing process for incoming freshman has been so bad it’s made me want to transfer schools altogether. UNM randomly decided that 50% of freshman could select their dorms on the 8th while the rest got waitlisted. Everyone waitlisted has 0 decent options.
