As an EMT who is constantly coming to various nursing homes all across the state of Iowa, this is easily bottom 3. Do NOT send anyone you love here if you can avoid it. Just the other day I showed up for a fairly severe concern, and it took 30 minutes to even get inside at 7pm because the nurses wouldn’t answer the door bells, no one was on the first floor at all, and the phone was being actively hung up when we called. Cna staff seems overworked and understaffed. Management used the term “revolving door” when it came to staffing. Scheduler makes calls to staff while drunk and inebriated. Building is in poor condition.
University Park Nursing had some good points, but honestly, there were definitely some rough spots. The staff were generally polite, but they seemed really overworked at times, which made things feel a bit slow when we needed help. Some areas were clean, but the hallway carpet was pretty worn, and a few rooms could really use a fresh coat of paint.
