Literally have been rescheduled multiple times this last time was it for me. I said it must be a sign for me not to even go to this appointment was asked to reschedule probably just to be rescheduled again a month before my appointment or maybe even shorter.. just crazy! UVA can stop a patient from being scheduled after cancellations but can keep rescheduling a patient just crazy.
I’ve been trying to see if I can schedule a consult for nearly two months, but I’ve received zero responses back. I’ve used the contact form on the website with both my email and partner’s email, and even called the number several times, but I’d only get a message confirming they got it, then silence. I was worried that maybe I wasn’t waiting long enough, but saw some people say that they respond within a couple business days. I have had several surgeries here due to breast and appendiceal cancers. These surgeries included DIEP flap (which isn't offered in my home state of WV) and a LAT flap procedure. I have always been extremely pleased with my surgeon, Dr. Chris Campbell, and his staff. His NP Lindsey is friendly and helpful. They are kind, receptive and listen to all my concerns. Communication here is AWFUL! Was gave a list of things to get to them and needing to get a CT scan of my abdomen. Turned out I had a seroma a very big one of which the NP thought my organs were protruding my abdominal wall. My surgeon here in Lynchburg reached out to the NP and asked if they could take care of this seroma while doing the tummy tuck since they would be in the same area she said she would speak to the Dr and get back to him. After multiple phone calls the week of May 15-May 19, 2023, getting the appropriate referral from her doctor, calling back again and again to make sure they got the referral, calling again and again to attempt to make an appointment, not once did anyone from this office return a phone call to my daughter to schedule an appointment to see the surgeon. If this is the way all new patients are handled, I’m not sure how anyone would even be able to see a doctor in this practice. The whole experience has been very disappointing.
