I’ve been living in Charlottesville for the past 10 years, and I’ve always trusted UVA Hospital for medical care. But my recent experiences with the UVA Emergency Department have left me shocked and extremely disappointed. Last week, my daughter went to the UVA ER at 11:00 AM and wasn’t seen for nearly 6 hours. Great care my dad received.... But parking garage is full and i have nowhere to park to pick my dad up and I'm about to get physical with one of these valet guys.... I haven't seen a bunch this dumb since pre covid

The wait times here can be extremely long, especially after 5 PM. Patients are often placed in rooms for extended periods without updates or medical attention. While some members of the staff are courteous and compassionate, others lack bedside manner and can come across as extremely dismissive. If possible, arriving earlier in the day—before 5 PM—may result in a more efficient experience.
