My husband and I were sent to Mizzou Veterinarian Hospital on 12/14/23 by our Vet Dr. Shawnee Clark DVM with suspected prostate cancer, Mizzou Veterinarian Hospital was considered the best in animal oncology. For the last year our border collie Zeus has had a multiple of serious health issues and had been humainly and competently cared for by Dr Rebecca Simon of Pet Center. She took care of Zeus with compassion and said that to further diagnose we needed to take him to UM Vet Health Center. We had a multitude of tests and in the end Zeus was diagnosed with thyroid cancer, a rectal mass that could be malignant, anemia, a heart mummer and other co-morbities. My pet was first seen in June, 2021 for possible surgery of cancerous liver tumor. They insisted I put her on cushing’s medicine before proceeding. I finally reluctantly put her on it. Well, it was the beginning of the end for her. It threw her into high blood pressure, kidney failure, pancreatitis. I stopped the meds but it was too late for her. She was seen again in August, 2021.
