Hands down the worst Hospital I've ever been to. They neglected me as a patient. I had a Broke back and a Broken neck. They had me in a Chair 💺 literally put me in a chair with a broken back. I complained about being in the chair pretty much got into a argument over being in a chair with a broken back... Some dude injected something into my hand that made me pass out. I honestly do not have a clue at how this place has gotten “top rankings” in the world. In the last 10 years, this place is where I have received some of the worst care of my life, and the rudest I’ve ever encountered all came from this place. I’ve actually driven hours out of my way to avoid this place. It’s a rarity to find a doctor that makes you feel seen, heard, doesn’t dismiss you, or judge you in any way. My experience with the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics was terrible. Even with good health insurance, I was still charged extremely high amounts. After researching healthcare billing laws more carefully, I realized several of the charges raised serious legal and ethical concerns. Out of all the doctors I encountered there, I can only say that about 3 or 4 treated my family like human beings. Don’t bother calling patient advocate at this hospital they don’t care about the patient anymore. Had procedure done and I had bruises around my neck and pain and swelling. The procedure had absolutely nothing to do with my head so the person that caused this was the anesthesiologist. I’ve had multiple surgeries and have never had any issues at all with pain or bruising after anesthesia. Nothing will happen to the anesthesiologist because he says he had no trouble but the bruising shows there was trauma to my neck. Also was ... read more
