Ridiculous. Not helpful. Not compassionate. Rude. Over charged. That sums up my daughter's ER experience. Went in for a sports injury with pain radiating down her arm, still in her uniform as we went straight from her game. The ER doctor was not concerned because she was not having a stroke and told us we shouldn't even be there. Did not mention the new sports medicine hospital in North Liberty that at the time we knew nothing about. Told us to go to our family doctor. OH MY WORD, THIS is supposed to be a GREAT Hospital with the “BEST CARE” in IA?? I remember good things about the hospital in the early 2000’s yet the ER, after being at GREAT ER’s before (see my reviews of others in CO); WOW! Went there after horrible medical care in Waterloo IA, at the suggestion of a Dr who said I may be having small seizures, knew I also had many other ignored issues like ? Terrible experience! My friend was sent here from the Muscatine ER, at which I was listed as an emergency contact upon taking them them to the ER. They were then transferred to this location. I was given this ER’s number from the Muscatine location. I called before his arrival to Iowa City ER from the Muscatine ER and shortly after as well. I spoke with a very nice gentleman initially, who said to try back in an hour or two, once my friend has been accessed and they can give more into. If I could give it 0 I would im very well know to UIHC when it comes to my mental health but lately since ive been going it seems like there starting to not care more and more, im just gonna say it if I willing reach out for help on my own I should receive help right then in there I shouldn't have to hurt myself or prove to the doctors that im actually hurting period because it seems like they dont listen until 60 pills down my throat later I know they say this is the best hospital but I would not be recommending this to fam... read more
