Went in for mental health reasons. The experience of waiting made me want to kill myself more than my antidepressants do.
Probably one of the most worse places you could ever go to. My fiancé sister had a eye problem and we took her here because i was told it was one of the best ER around. We waited 4 hours just for her to finally get seen, we got done and they want to do some scans of her eye. We waited 7 more hours just for someone to finally getting back woth us that she was now really to go in. I dont like doing this at all but for how long we had to wait for and eye test was really ridiculous!
Came in with a ruptured appendix (unknown at the time) felt like I was dying I was curled up on the floor begging for some kind of pain medication, of course I was ignored or was told someone would get to me and that didn’t happen. My mom called Mercy still at the time and they told me to come straight in, the doctor barely pressed on my stomach and knew what was wrong. Where do I start.. Thinking I was having a heart attack i had my stepson drive me to the ER from north liberty. Came in with sudden weakness in my legs/arms, uncontrollable shaking, heat radiating on my left side, heart rate way up. They always tell young men to don’t take any chances and to be fast acting. I am a big fan of UIHC hospitals, but the emergency department is one of the most poorly ran departments I have ever seen. My 2 year old son was having worsening symptoms after being told he had strep the previous weekend. We were told by an urgent care doc to go to the ER because of the worsening symptoms after having tried 2 antibiotics. On 04-04-2025 around 5:30-6pm we went to the IA City ER. We made it into our room quick and were told that our son would be getting an IV so they could do a CT, take labs, and give fluids.... read more
