I switched my health organization to U of C recently because of my bad experiences with that organization. I went to see Dr. Joshi at The University of Chicago office in Orland Park. My experience with this office is exceptional. From the time you arrived at the front door to the time you see your doctor everyone greets you with a smile and courtesy. Wait times at this facility is the longest I’ve ever experienced with UChicago!
I received a call from the digestive dieases Doctor, himself, asking me to reschedule my appointment due to the fact “he received an invitation to an invitation to an important podcast to speak at the same time I’m scheduled to see him in the orland office!” I politely told him since the podcast interview was more important to go to that! Because how inconvenient it is to call your patients at 8:30pm on a Sunday evening and ask them to reschedule their appointment. Mind you it to me 2 months to get the appointment
Be prepared to wait. UC has a pattern of overbooking appointments—often two to four patients for the same time slot. I was asked to arrive at 3:45 p.m. for a 4:00 p.m. appointment and ended up waiting until 4:40 before leaving. This is the second time I’ve personally experienced this in the past two years. It’s not just me—my teenage daughter has had the same issue three times with the Orthopedic Department, each time waiting 45+ minutes past the scheduled appointment.
