I had a very disappointing experience with the receptionist, Anne. I received an incorrect prescription from the doctor, and the doctor advised me to return to reception to collect the corrected script. There were still errors that needed clarification, so I asked the receptionist I have to see the doctor and also mentioned my consultantation was just an hour ago. I was showing signs of an anaphylactic reaction with rashes, feeling of throat tightness, and difficulty breathing. When I told the reception that I need help, they forced me to wear a face mask, despite already having difficulty breathing. I went to Laverty Pathology yesterday and had negative COVID-19 results. the people at reception lacked empathy during a potentially life threatening situation, which is very shocking. I sprained my ankle on the UC campus and went to UC Health Services to ask for an ice pack to help reduce the swelling. They refused to assist and turned me away, saying I needed an appointment. When I asked if, as a staff member, I could make an appointment that day just to get some ice, they told me they were fully booked. I found this response very unprofessional, unsympathetic, and uncaring.
I saw Dr Tong and was holding back tears the entire appointment. He was so rude and didn’t believe any of my symptoms or conditions, which I had complete documentation to prove.
