If it were possible I would give it 0 stars. I’ve been here 11 hours sitting in the lobby with a heart rate in the 40s accompanied by dizziness, headache, chest tightness, and overall weakness. They have only checked my vitals 2 times while out here. They claim to take patients back based on highest medical need yet they took a possible broken foot back after a few hours of being there yet I’m still here in the lobby. Student attending Tech with a heart condition has been instructed by his Cardiologist to immediately go to UMC if he experiences after hour complications. Tonight he did, upon arrival he was seen within 20 min upon check in, took his vitals, gave a blood draw, set him up with an IV and ordered a CT scan all while redirecting him back to the intake lobby pending further evaluation. I waited more than five hours with tremendous abdominal pain , We need a positive change in the health system that does not allow people who go to the emergency room to wait so many hours to be seen. That is not fair. We pay a lot of money in emergencies. The United States has good things, but some bad things like this , It's incredible how bad the conditions are in these hospitals, as if they didn't charge exorbitant prices for medical services. Don't they have the money to repair and maintain the hospital in good condition... read more
