Best Auto Mechanics in Durham! – University BP does not even sell gas, so do not let those other posters confuse you. I have known Tony Henderson since 1974 and have always been pleased with his expertise with autos. He knows all there is to know about all makes and has other mechanics, including family members who are almost as good! His prices are the most fair around and he goes the extra mile if you need a ride or sometimes even a loaner. He is honest and you do not see that with many mechanics these days! Great prices! – I think that the last reviewer has the service station confused with the gas station which shares the same name and happen to be located in the same shopping center. To agree with the first reviewer I have taken my car to University BP several times I have not had to return to complain. It does have a tiny waiting area but the service and the prices are just right not too high or low. I would certainly reccommend them to friends, famliy and neighbors. I have in the past and will continue to do so.
BP gas pumps are super slow – This is just a warning. Something is wrong with all the Family Fair BP gas pumps. They pump slow as all get out. At each BP the excuse is different, "It is the pumps." "It is because we are using ethanol." "It is because the pump can't keep up with the new high prices." Who knows the why. All I know is you want to avoid Family Fare BP right now. A 12 gallon Honda Civic tank took 15 minutes (no joke, no exaggeration) to fill up. Ridiculous!!! Make me pay through the nose for gas and waste my time... read more
Honest, inexpensive, and friendly – Tony Henderson, the owner of University BP, is an honest car mechanic. That in itself is a good reason to go there. I have have taking my cars to him for several years, and have recommended him to my friends. Everyone has been very pleased. His prices for labor are extremely competitive, and he doesn't waste any time. He will also tell you exactly what needs to be done, and what doesn't.
