We have been using Dr Schell and University Animal Clinic as our primary veterinarian for our dogs since arriving in Tyler 13 years ago. Over the years Dr Schell has administered vaccinations, and performed spaying/neutering, teeth cleaning/extractions. Our 11 yo oldest girl, who has been a patient of Dr Schell since she was 2 months old, had eye surgery yesterday with Dr Schell. We took our dog Maple here for a routine teeth cleaning and she was dead a few days later from necrotic fasciitis. The exact same thing happened at the same time with another dog (that owner has also left a review). We found out about each other at the emergency vet during that awful weekend, and we have both filed complaints with the Texas Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners. I just found out that they ruled that Dr. Schell DID violate the Board’s rules. Do not take your animals here.
I unfortunately have to drive past their business everyday. I don’t understand the owners need to post their little self righteous notes on their sign but I can’t imagine it’s good for business mixed in with the fact they can’t clean their clients teeth without killing them (based on other reviews they’ve yet to reply to years later)
Didn't even try to help. Suggested putting my dog down
