The Lowbrow Astronomers hold a free open house each non-winter month (provided there aren't clouds). Several amateur astronomers let you look through their telescopes and answer your questions. There's also a larger, stationary telescope nearby. Try to arrive early enough to see the moon through one of their scopes. Unforgettable.
