My older brother just passed away this evening at the UnityPoint Hospice at Allen Hospital. He was taken in by ambulance on Monday and the hospice team has been wonderful. They took every care to ensure his comfort in his final days. My sister-in-law was kept up on situation with his condition at all times and she was able to stay there with him the whole time. My experience with UnityPoint Hospice, as well as my family’s experience with them was an excellent one. From the beginning, the care that was to be provided and expected for my mother was made clear to us, all lines of communication and questioning/answers were wide-open and free flowing, It never took more than maybe 5 to 10 minutes to receive a callback from our hospice nurse if we had to call into the main number. from the beginning of this experience to the end it was the worse, the nurse that started let someone from a competing hospice, someone my father didnt want touching him take over the care. she lied to the hospice center about my dads condition and was allowed to increase the morphine. all i can say is they made sure he did not die with dignity. i wouldnt recommend this place to anyone
