I’ve been to so many places but the scheduling is so far out I love just going in and getting it done especially when your waiting for your appointment somewhere else… they listen and don’t make me feel like a burden when I come in
Heads up: 1) you have to b 18 and older to b treated. This is not posted on the website. 2) when I walked in with my teenage daughter half hr before they close on a Friday, I heard one of the front desk girls say "oh myGahd".....didn't think I had to apologize for coming into a mental health walkin clinic during open hrs....and 3) the doctor references they provided me to call weren't in existence. I have no idea why people are leaving so many bad reviews for the walk in behavioral health clinic. They are kind and caring individuals who genuinely want to help. Its unfair to blame them for allen hospitals security, or the hospitals behavioral health unit, as the are completely seperate departments. the entrance displayed isnt the correct entrance and the short old guy that the security person at the door showed is very rude and disrespectful and with the way he talks to people who are dealing with mental health struggles he's going to end up triggering a reaction be on the bad end of a phyiscal reaction. he shouldnt be in a position to deal with incoming patience.
Hear staff is kind yet didn’t don’t help much with anything. I knew someone who wanted to stay, & now know what it’s like in their mental health ward/process to get in. They drug/alcohol test, do an ekg, then stick them in a room alone with a TV before deciding to admit. During that time they won’t give food, or meds that they may actually need, like an asthma med (they thought was anxiety 🤦♀️).
