This has been 2nd time working with Abbe for my clients. They were very nice and helpful during initial intake. They had the care and support to my client. The intake person was very understanding. I recommend the Iowa City Abbe over the Cedar Rapids branch anytime.
The Abbe Counseling staff has been wonderful - good communication and patient with navigating my family’s needs.
I’ve had 3 appointments cancelled on me in a row, this has made me give up on trying to get better. Try somewhere else if you actually want to get in to see someone. What is the point of asking for help if the people whose jobs it is the help don’t?
What has happened to this clinic in the last year? Like others I'm being denied my SNRI and forced to go into withdrawals on a medication I've been on since 2007. This is pure cruelty and unethical. When asked what to do about withdrawals due to their "soup nazi" way of practicing, I got told "go to the er" and was hung up on by Sara at the front desk. I had a worker for CSP for over a year. She was very young. She would not tell me much about herself. She said our time was about me. So I ended up telling her about how bad I.had been feeling and past traumas. If the appts were about me, then why didn't she ask things,such as good memories from the past or what I had been watching on TV. She rarely smiled.
