I have always had a good experience at this lab. Although I can be a difficult "stick," he always finds a vein and draw blood painlessly. Pretty sure he uses a butterfly needle on me which helps. Also, I never have to wait and he's done pretty quickly. Once he was on vacation but I had a similar experience with the person filling in for him. This lab has always been friendly and very helpful, even when my doctor wasn't.
The guy who takes your blood is very unpleasant and he claims that it isn't possible to use a butterfly needle to take blood. This has happened more than once. He uses some line that the specific blood test doesn't allow him to take blood that way. Although my blood tests were pretty standard. Then he uses a GIGANTIC needle (probably one of the biggest ones I have ever seen) - something that looks like it came out of 60's technology.
