I grew up doing martial arts and value all of the character benefits that come with learning martial arts. I encouraged my 7 year old son to try martial arts, but he was very shy and scared to join a dojo. After visiting several of the studios on the hill, I found the USSD instructors to be great with kids, and their program included a weekly half hour one on one private lesson with each student. Sensei David Johnson is an excellent instructor. He is very knowledgeable, proficient, and patient with both children and adults. Having tried a number of other dojos, I would not consider going anywhere else. In addition, I really enjoy going to his place for exercise. It has reduced my blood pressure, improve my cholesterol level, and reduced my weight. I highly recommend this studio.

Sifu Dave Johnson runs a good school, I attended one of his seminars on home invasion. Leaned some good tricks and had fun in the process.

USSD is great for all ages, especially children. Instructors were attentive and caring, and were always willing to help even after scheduled practice. More on the expensive side, but a standard plan will offer plenty of private and group classes. Altogether a great experience, 5/5 stars :)
