I asked to pay my bill in full before leaving the emergency room and was charged $1350 for a CT scan and 3 stitches. I thought that was pretty reasonable until they mailed me a bill for $6150 and another for $900. I was told that the discrepancy in the amounts was because I had a "trauma level 5 activation".
