Our experience with UI after Irene came through was pretty sad. The customer service was nonexistent. We live in Hamden, but we had no power for 7 full days and no updates were provided. It was only after the electricians from Kansas City, MO, arrived that our power was restored and the problem was identified as a frayed ground, one that could have been fixed days earlier.

If I could give no stars, I would. This company has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Last night we lost power at our house. I called the customer service line and was told that they close at 7pm and there was no one that could come out to help us. I find it hard to believe that this company has no "after hours" service vehicles that could have helped us. We were told that our service issue did not constitute an emergency to them and that they would send no one out until the next day. The people that we spo... read more
