After my mother got told to get over herself by the local United Way a number of years ago because she had the "nerve" to go there and ask for help to get groceries in the house, I won't donate a single red cent to this organization. The United Way is scam and should be avoided at all costs

I was pressured by my companies managers for 30 minutes to donate to United Way until I finally relented because of their pressure tactics, and said I'd donate to United Way. When I said ok, they abruptly stopped badgering me and left to go pressure the next employee.
I will never donate to a non profit organization where it's CEO makes a$1,000,000 per year. To me it is obvious that the money is not going where it can do some good.
Employee gets paid so sound like my husband and others that donate are paying someones paycheck. That is so wrong. It should be volunteer work united way suppose to be there to help.
I think the history and the people are truly a blessing from the top to the bottom. Thank you United Way.
